Good EV Charging Habits: Using AC and DC Chargers Wisely
Match the charger to the stop: AC charging suits longer parking, while DC fast charging is best reserved for efficient travel breaks.
Use AC charging for the longer stops that are already part of your day, such as home, work or overnight parking. It is convenient for routine energy needs and avoids making every charge a rushed public-charger stop.
Use DC fast charging when it makes the journey easier, especially on intercity routes. Fast charging naturally slows at higher state of charge, so a shorter stop to reach the next planned charger can often be more time-efficient than waiting for 100%.
Check connector compatibility, cable condition and the station instructions before every session. Do not use damaged plugs or adapters, avoid blocking a bay after charging is complete, and follow the battery-care guidance in your own vehicle manual rather than a one-size-fits-all charging rule.
