How to Plan EV Highway Trips in India With Charging Stops

Route planning turns a long EV drive into a sequence of manageable charging breaks.

An EV highway trip is easiest when charging stops are planned before departure. Start with your vehicle's real-world range rather than its brochure range, then account for weather, traffic, elevation, air-conditioning and passenger load.

Choose charging stops that leave a comfortable range buffer. A meal or rest break is often a good time to charge, but it is wise to identify an alternate station before setting off.

For a smoother trip, carry the apps or payment methods used by your preferred charging networks and avoid arriving at a stop with an almost empty battery.
